“It’s All About The Medical History!:” Essential Pharmacology for Busy Dental Professionals

This course provides a discussion on the importance of understanding pharmacology in the context of Dental and Medical History. It will provide practical tools dental professionals can apply to assist with interpreting the information contained in a patient’s medical history. It will also help practitioners develop an understanding of the impact that medical history has on dental treatment planning and patient care. The conversation will then transition to appropriate prescribing practices and will provide participants with an overview of the pharmacology of pain control and the effective management of acute dental pain using non-opioid and opioid analgesics. Finally, we will discuss pharmacology and therapeutics of local anesthetic agents with a special emphasis on those commonly administered in the dental practice. For more education, visit Courses.
